Depending on the use, there are slightly falling, inelastic fabrics for blouses, summer trousers, airy dresses and scarves or elastic fabrics for shirts and figure-hugging dresses. The basic material is usually viscose or modal. Polyester is rarely offered here.
Viscose or modal are cellulose-based fibres produced in a chemical process. The basic material is therefore the renewable raw material wood. They are therefore not synthetic fibres based on crude oil, such as polyester. Compared to cotton jersey, they are more elastic, thinner and have a softer fall.
